We are currently looking for a VMWare Engineer to join our team.

 

Job Description:

  • As an Engineer 2 you will be responsible for using your technical knowledge of professional concepts to solve business problems. 
  • We are looking for a talented individual that can serve as a subject matter expert in their area of focus and represent their department on complex assignments. 
  • You will be responsible for evaluating elements of technology's effectiveness through requirements gathering, testing, research and investigation and make recommendations for improvements that result in increased quality and effectiveness. 
  • You will be required to listen to and evaluate customer needs to determine and provide high quality solutions that align with customer expectations.
  • As an Engineer 2, on the x86 Core team, you will be responsible for incident management and mitigation while streamlining day-to-day operational tasks using scripting and automation techniques.
  • You will support the Internal Hosting Product’s infrastructure and service catalogs and perform continuous improvements to the virtual infrastructures while working with other senior level staff. 
  • You will provide incident and problem resolution for complex issues, perform disaster recovery exercises, and work closely with Product Engineering to enhance the company’s internal private cloud.

 

Required:

  • 3+ years of experience administering VMware vSphere 6.x infrastructure using VMware provided tools. 
  • 1+ years of experience administering Windows and/or Linux related infrastructure.
  • 1+ years of experience administering VMware environments using PowerCLI.
  • 1+ years of experience automating build-related tasks using VMware SDK(s).
  • 1+ years of experience with scripting and automating infrastructure tasks using scripting languages such as: Python, Java, JavaScript, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Must be able to work an on-call rotation, every 5-6 weeks.
  • Must be interested in exploring new technologies and have a desire to push your skillset outside of your comfort zone.
  • Must be able to prioritize projects and tasks while adhering to the overall Information Technology standards.
  • Must be capable of leading meeting and discussions such as support case reviews or project team meetings.
  • Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated customer service support ethic and focus to deliver the highest, most consistent level of customer service to our customers and partners.
  • Experience in all phases of the development lifecycle, including use of formal requirement documentation, testing methodologies, implementation strategies, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Flexible to facilitate an on-call rotation schedule for incident response and maintenance activities.
  • Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities.

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred.
  • Experience operating in an Agile development environment.
  • Experience working in large data center deployments.
  • 2+ years of experience with VMware value-add products such as vRealize Operations, vSAN, and vRealize Automation.
  • Hands on experience working with VCE’s Vblock and supporting components (Cisco UCS, Nexus, EMC).
  • Hands on experience working with Dell EMC hyper converged technologies and supporting components (VxRail and VxRack).
  • VMware VCP certification(s)
  • MicrosoftLinux certification(s)
